SPARC - Learning For The I/DD Community

What is SPARC?

SPARC is The Arc Portland Metro’s home for all of our learning programs. It’s where people in the I/DD community, their families, and allies come together to build skills, explore new ideas, and connect with others.

We believe learning should feel welcoming, not overwhelming. SPARC is designed to spark curiosity and confidence in areas that matter most — from health and nutrition to relationships, creativity, and life skills.

SPARC programs are:

Inclusive – Everyone is welcome, with support to learn at your own pace.

Evidence-Based – Every course is grounded in proven approaches and tailored to the unique challenges and strengths of people in the I/DD community.

Practical – Focused on skills you can use in everyday life.

Engaging – Interactive, supportive, and built around community.

Flexible – Covering health, nutrition, relationships, arts, and more.

What We Offer

All SPARC courses are evidence-based and developed to address the specific challenges and opportunities faced by people in the Intellectual and Developmental Disability (I/DD) community.
